Prayer Items

Today, March 26, is the first Balikatan Monthly Day of Prayer.  Let us respond to the Lord’s challenge in Jeremiah 33:3  “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”  Please set aside a few minutes today and pray as individuals, prayer partners, or small groups.  Let us praise God and pray for the following:

1.  Praise God for Balikatan’s 26th year of existence.  The Lord has been gracious!  Pray for continued wisdom for God’s directions and visions for Balikatan.

2.  Praise God for IVCF Philippines and its ministry to students.  Pray for the leadership, Erickson, the Board, and staff workers.

3.  Praise God for His sovereignty and control over IVCF Phils and Cagayan ministry.  Pray for His grace, mercy, healing, and restoration for all of us, particularly those directly involved in the recent decisions made about this matter.

4.  Praise God for the Balikatan Board members and their commitment to do God’s work.  Pray for wisdom in the decisions they make, specifically their statement on the IVCF Phils resolution on the Cagayan ministry.

5.  Praise God for the local chapters and their leadership. Pray for unity and love among its members and the chapters’ plans and activities for this year.  Pray for those who are struggling in forming their chapter (e.g., San Francisco group)  and for sustained membership for the existing chapters.

6.  Praise God for the upcoming Balikatan conference and ongoing preparations.  Pray for the attendees, the speakers, finances, and the Michigan group as they continue to prepare for this conference.

7.  Praise God for our jobs, health, homes, families and other provisions in the midst of our country’s economic crisis.  Pray for those who have lost their jobs or homes that they may experience God’s faithfulness despite their losses.
