DECEMBER 26 PRAYER DAY
DECEMBER 26 PRAYER DAY: “And the angel said to them: Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord ( Luke 2:10-11)” Let us celebrate the birth of Jesus our Savior as we praise God and pray for the Balikatan youth, our hope and future. Please see Karen Rustia’s article below for details.
The Balikatan youth group is comprised of teenagers and young adults from different cities throughout North America. Over the years, several gifted speakers and youth from Michigan, Illinois, Virginia, Georgia, California, and New York have participated in the youth program. Attendance has grown each year to include young people from other states and countries, including youth from Canadian provinces such as British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario.
The youth program has always fostered an understanding of various passages in scripture, cultural identity, and challenged young people to live lives that glorify God. It has also encouraged friendships between other Christian youth and created support systems throughout the year. As a youth leader, I have witnessed so much growth in the faith of the young people that attend. It is truly amazing to watch God work powerfully through them in their schools and communities.
It is my hope that we are able to continually encourage them to be servants and reach out to those who do not know the saving power of God’s grace and mercy. As we move forward, I ask that you pray for our leadership team and those that will be attending this year’s Balikatan conference in Boston.
